Weight Management Program

Our Commitment

At Wyoming Medical Center, we are committed to the health and wellness of individuals, families, and communities. The Weight Management Program at Wyoming Medical Center demonstrates that commitment.

The Weight Management Program at Wyoming Medical Center offers both medical and/or surgical weight management at one location. Program services include:

  • Medical consultation and referral if needed
  • Mental health and referral if needed
  • Nutritional consultation/support
  • Exercise physiology/rehab if needed
  • Behavior modification
  • Support groups
  • Assistance with insurance questions/billing

The Weight Management Program at Wyoming Medical Center offers a number of choices for your weight loss success.

The LAP-BAND® Adjustable Gastric Banding System is the first U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved adjustable gastric band for use in weight reduction. Unlike gastric bypass, the LAP-BAND® System does not involve stomach cutting, stapling or re-routing of the intestine.

Ideal Protein Weight Loss Plan is a four phase retraining eating plan that helps stabilize the pancreas and blood sugar levels while burning fat and maintaining muscle and other lean tissue. This four phase plan is a long term health promotion and weight control, not a "diet" that leaves participants with the "Now what?" question after weight has been lost.

In addition to the services/consultations listed above, the surgeon or medical consultant may request the following tests, all of which can be done at Wyoming Medical Center.

  • Sleep study
  • Pulmonary Function Test
  • Upper Endoscopy
  • Upper GI
  • Ultrasound/CT scan Thyroid screen (blood test)
  • H. Pylori (blood test)
  • Other blood tests/ studies as needed

You may also require consultation from a specialty provider such as a cardiologist, pulmonologist, or neurologist.

Long-term success depends on you.

You will need to:

  • Commit to improving your health
  • Learn all you can about the program before making a decision
  • Discuss any questions or concerns with your surgeon or program coordinator
  • Follow all instructions in preparing for surgery
  • Commit to following the nutrition, activity, and other care instructions given to you before and after surgery
  • Attend support groups regularly
  • Follow up with your surgeon for regular check-ups and adjustments

The bariatric team will support you in your journey to improved health and wellness. Honesty, responsibility, and cooperation play a critical role in your success.
