Allergy & Immunology

An allergist-immunologist evaluates, diagnoses and manages disorders involving the immune system. Selected examples of such conditions include asthma, anaphylaxis, eczema, and adverse reactions to drugs, foods and insect stings as well as immunodeficiency diseases.

Conditions that are often treated by allergists/immunologists include:

• Allergy related conditions, such as asthma, hay fever, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and urticaria (hives)
• Allergic reactions to animals, food and medications (anaphylaxis)
• Immune deficiency diseases and insect allergies
